you dive in not knowing when you’ll hit the bottom or how long you can hold your breath or how much treading your body can handle, but you jump in regardless. and there’s that instant refreshment, that coolness that consumes your body as you float for the first couple of seconds, sinking a bit, letting your soul soak in the feeling. the only thing to do is to remain drifting, sinking, floating, paddling, praying and hoping that drowning is not an inevitability.
